Shakira and her former spouse Gerard Piqué appeared in court on Thursday to finalize their child custody agreement.
After 11 years together, the couple announced their divorce in June, and this month said they’d reached an agreement for their daughters Sasha, 7, and Milan, 9, after a 12-hour conversation.
‘The children will spend Christmas in Barcelona but as soon as 2023 begins, the footballer will say goodbye and assume a painful sacrifice so that the youngsters don’t experience an even more traumatic separation between their parents.
‘He will be able to cross the Atlantic Ocean to see them whenever he wants. The costs will be borne by both of them.’
In Barcelona, their legal teams indicated their entrance and leave as they signed the deal.
Shakira wore black for the outing.
After recently featured in Burberry’s beautiful festive ad, the singer was seen clutching the British brand’s £1,790 trench coat.
She wore a black polo neck and wide-legged slacks over platform heel boots.
Her choice of accessory was controversial as she finished the set with a £675 Balenciaga bucket bag.
There have been calls to boycott the company after it found itself in the thick of a rising scandal over its use of sexualised photographs of youngsters and references to child pornography.
Gerard wore a denim shirt, black bomber jacket, and slim pants.
Shakira and Gerard struck a child custody arrangement last month to avoid litigation.
Gerard, who dramatically retired from football last month, is alleged to have approved his ex-New partner’s Year departure to Miami with their two sons to avoid a lengthy legal struggle.
Shakira’s desire to return to her hometown and part of her family’s was the main obstacle to an out-of-court settlement.
“We desire to announce that we have signed an agreement that assures the wellfare of our children and that will be ratified in court as part of a mere legal procedure,” they stated.
Our main goal is to safeguard them and respect their privacy.
Their statement continued: ‘We appreciate the attention displayed and hope that the children can continue with their lives with the required privacy in a safe and tranquil setting.’
‘Shakira and Gerard.’
According to Spanish media, Gerard will have 10 days a month and holiday time with his children as part of his custody agreement with Shakira.
‘Gerard Piqué will have his children 10 days a month and the entirety of the three holiday periods that rule the United States, save from Christmas and the summer holidays, starting next year,’ revealed Catalan daily El Periodico, revealing the couple’s “little print.”
They will rotate custody at 50% this Christmas according to the regional Catalonian government’s calendar and according to the children’s school calendar in the future.
This is the footballer and Shakira’s child custody agreement.
Pique will have to split his time between Miami and Barcelona if Sasha and Milan start school in the US in the New Year.
It was unclear if that would include him house-hunting Stateside or doing a house-share with Shakira in Miami so the children can spend as much time as possible in the same home.
After a 12-hour discussion, Shakira and Gerard reportedly agreed to move to Miami next year.
The summit conference resolved the main obstacle to the couple’s out-of-court settlement.
‘After 12 hours of negotiating, Milan and Sasha will go with Shakira to Miami,’ stated rival La Vanguardia.
